Overheard in DC

On the Metro, as people try to squeeze onto the train:

Woman #1, polite, smiling: Pleeease don't push, I'm very pregnant!

Woman #2, snarky, pushing: Well maybe you shouldn't ride the Metro during rush hour, honey!

Rest of the train: (rising "oooooh" as if Rudy from The Cosby Show just mouthed off to Bill Huxtable)

Thursday, ~6:30pm, Red Line, Metro Center.

Pregnant women aren’t supposed to work? Just wait till snarky get's knocked up

Pregnant women are supposed to remove their footwear and hang in the kitchen for the duration. Right?

Yeah, it was a pretty unbelievable remark. I was horribly offended and I'm a neither pregnant nor a woman. I'm amazed no one took a swing at the woman; I can't say it didn't cross my mind.

What is weird is that a friend of mine saw this and told me about it too.

So pregnant women don't need to get around?

I was on this train too and was stunned that someone would make such a remark. I guess all pregnant people should work long hours and wait until after rush hour to ride public transportation home. Luckily many of us on the train commented to her and she then asked "well, what were we supposed to do?" And we all replied "wait for the next train!" What a dipshit! Are people really this stupid? I bet she voted for Bush, twice.

"Bitches should ride the metro either!"

I find it interesting that three people who were either on this train or heard of someone was are commenting here. This must just happen everyday to pregnant women. Glad I'm not one of those.
